Robinhood UK new customer offer. No promo code needed and no end date published. How this works

Quick answer

Open a Robinhood UK brokerage account through our link, get approved, link a UK bank account and make a deposit in pounds. Robinhood then lets you claim a free stock reward and choose which of 26 large US companies to put it into. The reward is worth $7 to $175, but about 96% of new customers get $7 to $8, roughly £5.25 to £6. You must claim it within 60 days, and its cash value cannot be withdrawn until 60 days after you claim. The Stocks and Shares ISA does not qualify, and you cannot claim if you have held a Robinhood UK brokerage account before.

How to claim your Robinhood free stock

Whether you sign up through an invite link or straight from Robinhood’s free stock page, the steps are the same. The order matters, because the reward only appears once your account is approved and funded.

Open and fund your account

A few minutes to apply, plus Robinhood’s approval.

  1. Tap Claim your free stockOur link takes you to Robinhood UK’s free stock page.
  2. Open a brokerage accountChoose the brokerage account. The Stocks and Shares ISA is not part of the offer.
  3. Get approvedRobinhood checks your details and approves the account.
  4. Link a UK bank and make a depositDeposits are in pounds. If a friend invited you, do this within 14 days of approval.

Claim and pick your stock

Robinhood sends a notification once you qualify.

  1. Open the claim notificationIt appears once your account is approved and funded.
  2. Pick a companyChoose from 26 large US companies: the two biggest S&P 500 names in each of the top 13 sectors.
  3. Know what sets the valueThe cash value comes from Robinhood’s published odds, not from the company you pick.
  4. Claim within 60 daysUnclaimed rewards expire. The stock is credited about a week after you claim.
  1. Day 0Open a brokerage account and get approved
  2. Within 14 daysLink a UK bank and deposit (the deadline for invited customers)
  3. Within 60 daysClaim your reward and pick your company
  4. About a week laterThe stock lands. Its cash value can be withdrawn 60 days after you claim

Open the brokerage account, not just the ISA. Robinhood’s offer terms exclude the Stocks and Shares ISA. You can open an ISA as well, but the reward only comes through the brokerage account.

Deposit in pounds from a UK bank. Robinhood UK only accepts deposits in pounds and does not convert them to dollars automatically. The reward itself is paid in US stock.

How much is the Robinhood free stock worth?

You choose which company the reward goes into, but not how much it is worth. Robinhood sets the value from a published table, and almost everyone lands in the lowest band:

$7 to $896%
$8 to $152%
$15 to $251%
$25 to $500.9%
$50 to $1750.1%

Odds as published in Robinhood UK’s Open account, pick your stock terms, read on 19 October 2026. Robinhood quotes the values in US dollars after 30% US withholding tax, and puts $7 to $8 at about £5.25 to £6 using an average 2025 exchange rate of 1.33.

96 in 100rewards are worth $7 to $8
1 in 1,000rewards are worth more than $50
About $8average reward, on our estimate from the published odds

How we worked out the average. We weighted each band by its probability. If every reward landed at the bottom of its band, the average would be $7.31. If every reward landed at the top, it would be $8.86. If values are spread evenly within each band, the average comes to about $8.08. These are our own calculations from Robinhood UK’s published odds, not figures Robinhood publishes.

Why the figures are after tax. Robinhood deducts 30% US withholding tax from the reward’s value when you claim it, and the amounts it publishes are what is left. Its own example: a $7 reward is $10 before tax, with $3 withheld and reported on IRS Form 1042-S.

Is it worth claiming? Your deposit stays yours, and in return you get a slice of a large US company most likely worth $7 to $8. That is a small bonus, so treat it as a welcome extra rather than a reason to choose a platform. Once credited, the stock is an ordinary investment and its price can fall as well as rise, as can its value in pounds.

  • You open a brokerage account and are approved

  • You claim the reward within 60 days

You cannot claim if

  • You are a current or previous Robinhood UK brokerage customer, including closed accounts

Which accounts qualify: brokerage, ISA and crypto

Robinhood UK offers more than one account, and only one of them earns the reward. Here is how its terms treat each.

Brokerage account

Qualifies. This is the only account the offer applies to, and your reward stock is credited here.

Stocks and Shares ISA

Does not qualify. Robinhood’s offer terms exclude the ISA. You can open one alongside the brokerage account, but opening an ISA on its own will not earn the reward.

Crypto account

Does not qualify. Crypto accounts opened through Robinhood UK are provided by Bitstamp UK Ltd and are excluded from Robinhood’s reward programmes. Cryptoassets are high risk and you could lose all the money you invest.

Robinhood invite link vs signing up directly

There are two ways in, and for you the reward is the same.

Signing up directly through Robinhood’s free stock page falls under its Open account, pick your stock offer. An invite link from an existing customer falls under its Invite friends, pick stock programme. Either way you get one free stock reward worth $7 to $175, pick from the same 26 companies and follow the same 60 day rules.

The difference is who else benefits. When a friend invites you, they receive five fractional share rewards once you are approved and fund your account. You can only receive the new customer reward once, however you join.

Robinhood free stock for existing customers

You cannot claim the new customer reward a second time, but you can earn free stock by inviting friends who are new to Robinhood UK. Each friend who signs up, is approved and funds their account earns you five fractional share rewards. Robinhood caps rewards at $1,500 of stock per household per calendar year, including any other offers, and you can check whether you are eligible to refer in the app.

How to keep your free stock

Claiming the reward is the easy part. These are the rules in Robinhood’s terms that can still cost you the reward or limit what you can do with it.

  1. Claim within 60 daysRewards that are not claimed in time expire, and Robinhood will not reissue them.
  2. Keep the cash value in for 60 daysYou can sell the stock, but to withdraw its value it must stay in your account for 60 days after you claim. After that there are no restrictions on withdrawing the proceeds.
  3. Spend it on the listed companiesThe reward must be used in full on shares or fractional shares from Robinhood’s list of 26 companies. It cannot be taken as cash.
  4. Expect US tax to be taken offRobinhood deducts 30% US withholding tax from the reward’s value when you claim, before it tells you the amount.
  5. One reward per personThe offer is available once per new customer and cannot be combined with other Robinhood offers.
  6. Robinhood has the final sayIt can decline enrolment, and it can change or end the offer at any time.

Is Robinhood UK worth it beyond the free stock?

A free stock reward worth a few pounds should not decide where you invest. Costs, what you can buy and how your money is protected matter far more.

Robinhood UK charges no account fee and no commission on US shares. Its currency conversion fee is 0.10% during FX market hours and 0.30% at weekends and on US bank holidays, which is low for a UK platform. The trade-off is range: you can only buy US-listed shares and ADRs, with no UK shares and no SIPP. Other fees may apply.

Robinhood U.K. Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (firm reference number 823590). Your shares are held by Robinhood Securities, LLC in the United States, so the FSCS does not apply. Instead, SIPC protection covers up to $500,000 if that US firm fails. That is a real difference from most UK platforms and worth understanding before you invest a larger sum.

Drawbacks

  • US-listed shares and ADRs only
  • FSCS does not apply, SIPC covers you instead
  • No SIPP, and the ISA is not flexible
  • Self-directed app with no financial advice

Strengths

  • No account fee and no commission on US shares (other fees may apply)
  • 0.10% FX fee during FX market hours
  • Start from $1 with fractional shares
  • Stocks and Shares ISA available alongside the brokerage account

Our view. If you mainly want low-cost access to US shares, claiming the free stock costs you nothing beyond a deposit that stays yours. Robinhood free stock FAQ

No. Robinhood UK’s free stock offer does not use a promo code. The reward comes with a new brokerage account opened through Robinhood’s free stock page or a friend’s invite link, once you are approved and have made a deposit.

$7 to $175, after 30% US withholding tax. Robinhood says about 96% of rewards are $7 to $8, roughly £5.25 to £6. The odds for the rest are 2% for $8 to $15, 1% for $15 to $25, 0.9% for $25 to $50 and 0.1% for $50 to $175. On our estimate, the average reward is about $8.

Yes. You pick from a list of 26 companies: the two largest S&P 500 companies in each of the top 13 sectors by market value. The company you pick does not change the value of the reward, and Robinhood may not hold every stock on the list.

Yes. Your account must be approved, you must link a UK bank account and you must complete a deposit in pounds. Robinhood does not publish a minimum amount for the offer. If a friend invited you, the deposit must be made within 14 days of approval. The deposit stays yours.

No. Robinhood’s terms exclude the Stocks and Shares ISA. Open a brokerage account to claim the reward. You can open an ISA alongside it.

You can sell it after you claim it. To withdraw its cash value, the value must stay in your account for 60 days after you claim. After that, there are no restrictions on withdrawing the proceeds.

Robinhood deducts 30% US non-resident withholding tax from the reward’s value when you claim it, and the amounts it publishes, such as $7 to $8, are what is left. In its example, a $7 reward is $10 before tax, with $3 withheld and reported on IRS Form 1042-S.

Not the new customer reward, but you can invite friends who are new to Robinhood UK. Each friend who is approved and funds their account earns you five fractional share rewards, up to $1,500 of stock per household per calendar year, including other offers.

Robinhood says the stock is credited about one week after you claim it, though it can take longer.

Robinhood U.K. Ltd is authorised and regulated by the FCA (firm reference number 823590). Your shares are held by Robinhood Securities, LLC in the United States, so FSCS protection does not apply. SIPC protection covers up to $500,000 if that US firm fails. As with any investment, the value of your holdings can fall. Our Robinhood UK review covers safety in more detail.

Robinhood says taxes on rewards are your responsibility. The US withholding is taken automatically. Because the reward sits in a brokerage account rather than an ISA, normal UK tax rules apply to any gains and dividends. Tax treatment depends on your circumstances and can change, so speak to a tax adviser if you are unsure.

How we checked this offer

We read Robinhood UK’s own offer terms and Help Centre pages rather than relying on referral sites, several of which describe the offer differently. Where a figure is our own calculation, we say so. We recheck this page at least monthly and whenever Robinhood changes the offer. Read more about how we work in our review methodology.

The free stock is a reward set by Robinhood UK. Its value comes from Robinhood’s published odds, it is paid in US stock after US withholding tax, and once credited it can go down as well as up. Exchange rate movements also affect its value in pounds. Robinhood can change or end its offers at any time, and its own terms take precedence over anything on this page.

Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and may change. If you are unsure whether a product is right for you, seek advice from an FCA authorised adviser.
